There’s nothing worse than being stuck at home with an energetic preschooler (or two!). Here are five places in Kyneton where the kids will be kept occupied and happy and tired parents can recharge their batteries.
Kyneton Community Park
Just behind the Kyneton Botanic Gardens is this beautiful park. The kids will love crawling through the tunnel of pink tyres, jumping across the collection of tree stumps and ‘driving’ in the brightly coloured tractors.
The Kyneton Library
What could be better than introducing your children to the wonderful world of books? The Kyneton Library runs rhyme time and storytimes for preschoolers of all ages. You could also borrow some books to read for when you return home.
Baby Rhyme Time: Tuesdays 10.30 to 11.00Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays 10.30 to 11.00Storytime 3- 5-year-olds: Mondays 10.30 to 11.45
Little Think Big
Crafting with littles at home often leads to big messes! Luckily, Little Think Big provides a variety of craft activities for your child to experiment with and you don’t need to lift a finger. Sessions run from Wednesdays to Fridays from 9.30 to 10.30 and 11.30 – 12.30. Ensure that you book your spot and that your children dress for mess.
Squishy Minnie
This delightful, inviting bookstore specialises in books for children and young adults. Squishy Minnie has regular events, including Storytime every Thursday at 10.30 am. Why not visit for a story, a browse and head to one of the local cafes for lunch afterwards?
Kyneton Toyota Sports and Aquatic Centre
For something different, take your little one to play at the pool. Entry for children under five is free and adults accompanying children only pay $5.50.
Which will you visit first?
