Kyneton has seen the community come together during these challenging times. Marye of Maiaveda Spa enjoys the sense of community in Kyneton and wanted to give back. Maiaveda is a boutique holistic spa which offers a suite of services. These combine natural ways of healing by integrating Ayurvedic therapies, yoga, meditation, holistic counselling and diet. Marye, the owner and creator of Maiaveda, moved to the Macedon Ranges 20 years ago and opened her wellness centre in 2011. She and her team have brought balance of the mind, body and spirit to many locals and visitors over the years. Marye is a qualified Ayurvedic health practitioner, Reiki Master, Vedic counsellor, Certified Yoga and Meditation Teacher. She believes the ancient insights of traditional mind-body medicine paired with modern medical research can deliver a happy, healthy and vibrant life.
Maiaveda’s services have had to change during these difficult times. All wellness centres and day spas were mandated to close on 25 March 2020 as a response to the pandemic restrictions. The government has since reversed its decision on remedial and therapeutic massage, so Maiaveda has started to slowly return to seeing clients. (These are by appointment only and involve adhering to strict hygienic protocols). Maiaveda is pleased to be able to support their community with nurturing touch whilst navigating through these unprecedented times. Marye has also been offering online Wellness Coaching / Spiritual Counselling sessions since their doors have been closed and will continue to do so.
Marye has a message to people at this time: “Your feelings are so valid. No matter what they are. Your experience and pain is so valid. Regardless of what it is. Your fears and the ways you feel scared are so appropriate. You are not overreacting, you do not need to force yourself to keep your head up when things feel heavy. Your trauma matters. Your story is important. You are valid. You are not crazy. I will hold space for you in the now.”
